2005 4th of July Ambassador
Tony Boquer
The Erath 4th of July Association is proud
to announce the selection of Tony Boquer as Ambassador for the 2005
Erath 4th of July Celebration. Boquer is a former resident of
Erath, and currently lives in Honolulu, Hawaii.
While he was a resident of Erath, Boquer was
involved with several civic organizations. He was an active
member of the Erath Knights of Columbus, and has been a member of
that organization since 1982. He has obtained the rank of
third degree Knight. Boquer was also a member of the Erath 4th
of July Association, were he served as President in 1983.
Boquer used his expertise in the advertising business to heavily
promote the festival in all Medias of advertisement.
Boquer moved to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1987.
Boquer continues to be heavily involved in the Catholic Church.
He has served as a Eucharistic minister, R.I.C.A. teacher and
director, and religion teacher in both Louisiana and Hawaii.
Boquer served as principal of the Holy Family Catholic Academy in
Honolulu from 1995-2004. While principal, he was awarded the
Distinguished Principal Award by the National Catholic Educational
Association in 2001. He is currently employed as the General
Manager of Lesea Broadcasting of Honolulu.
Boquer is married to the former
Bonnie Hernandez, who is the granddaughter of longtime Erath
physician, Dr. Martial Boudreaux. They are the parents of four
children; Cherie, Kelly, Rica, and Amanda. |
